All the rendering materials Renders World stocks sit together here, from insulation and fixings to primers, basecoats, mesh, beads, sills and the decorative surface itself. It suits a buyer who already knows the build-up and wants all the materials on one order. Still choosing a system? Our thin coat render systems route you through it stage by stage.
Rendering Materials by Family: What the Full Range Holds
Rendering materials for a UK facade fall into five families: EN 15824 finish coats, primers and paints, reinforcing mortars and mesh, boards and insulation, and the sills, tools and cleaners that complete the job. Every family below is stocked, and the rendering products in each are bought for a different reason. The range covers three kinds of wall: solid masonry being re-rendered, external wall insulation on existing homes, and framed new builds that need a board before anything is applied.
Finish Coats
The outer coat is what people see and what the weather meets first. The range carries silicone, silicate-silicone and acrylic thin coat finishes, each tinted to order, so the choice turns on the wall, not on a fixed palette. Two decorative families sit alongside them: a mosaic plinth render for the splash zone at ground level, and concrete and timber effect finishes that take their character from tooling and a tinted sealer rather than from the grain of the material.
Primers and Paints
Primers do two separate jobs, and the range holds both: a consolidating primer reduces the absorbency of bare masonry, and a quartz key coat gives the finish a surface to grip. Where a sound rendered wall only needs new colour, silicone paint for masonry refreshes it, mixed from a white or a grey base.
Adhesives, Basecoats and Reinforcement
Two structural stages hold an insulated wall together: bonding the boards, then embedding alkali-resistant mesh in a basecoat. The same mortars carry both stages, which keeps the list of rendering materials short. Beads and profiles belong to this stage too, because they are set into the reinforced basecoat at every corner, edge and termination.
Boards, Insulation and Fixings
Behind the render sits whatever carries it. On timber frame, light steel frame and SIP facades that is a render carrier board with its matched screws. On an external wall insulation build-up it is the insulation itself: graphite EPS insulation boards, mineral wool slabs, fixing plugs, spiral anchors and base track. These rendering materials belong on the same delivery note as the outer surface, because a wall is only as sound as what lies under it.
Sills, Tools and Cleaning
Once the wall grows thicker, the windows need a deeper drip, and an oversill in white or anthracite brings the drip edge back past the new face. Texturing a floated surface takes the right rendering sponge on a power float. After handover, an algae remover for render deals with green and red growth, and physical render colour samples settle a shade before anything is mixed.
Which Collection for Which Project
Most buyers start from the job, not the product, and each common UK project draws on one part of the range more than the rest.
On site the families of rendering materials follow one another in a fixed order. The substrate is prepared or boarded, and insulation is bonded and fixed where the design calls for it. The reinforced basecoat goes on with its mesh and beads, the primer follows once it has cured, and the coloured coat closes the wall. A step-by-step thin coat application guide covers the site work in detail, including the waiting time between stages.
Ordering Rendering Materials from Renders World
Tinting in house. Renders are tinted to order on a separate mixer for each manufacturer, and a shade can be matched from a customer's own reference.
The whole wall on one order. Render materials for every stage, from the first fixing to the last coat, can be bought from Renders World together instead of from several suppliers.
Same-day dispatch. Goods leave the same day when the stock is there, and delivery is quoted once you have ordered, always to the kerb.
Collection in Southampton. The Renders World counter is open Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings, and a coloured render can be mixed and taken away on the same visit.
Coloured goods are made for you. Material coloured to your shade is mixed for one customer, so it cannot be sent back as a change-of-mind return.
Three Checks Before You Order
Settle the substrate first, because it decides the primer, the board and the fixings.
Settle the colour and texture next, because tinted material is made for your job.
Count the edges, reveals and corners last, because they decide how many beads and sills go on the same delivery.
Where the choice is still between finishes rather than between layers, start with our silicone and acrylic renders, where the selection is made on the wall itself.
FAQ — Quantities, Choice, Conditions and Care
How much material does a rendered wall need?
Quantities depend on the product, the grain and the wall, so there is no single figure for the whole range. For a whole elevation worked out layer by layer, the render coverage calculator converts square metres into bags and buckets.
Which render suits my wall?
The answer depends on how much the wall breathes, how much it moves and how deep the colour goes. Our buying guide on how to choose silicone render walks through those three questions against real UK walls.
Can rendering materials go on in cold or wet weather?
Each render, primer and basecoat has its own working range for temperature and humidity, set by its manufacturer, so check it for the product you order. Plan the last coat for a dry spell, and protect fresh work from rain and frost until it has cured.
How is a rendered wall kept clean?
Treat growth by diagnosis, not with a general wash: algae and mould need a biocidal cleaner, while resin and cement splashes each need their own remover. All three sit among the rendering materials in this range.
