Description
When insulation and render move the face of a wall outwards, the old window sill ends up short. The Over Sill Anthracite 2.5m 140mm Depth is a dark extension that fits over it and brings the sill line back out to the new surface. It is the second of four anthracite depths, sold in 2.5 m lengths.
Five Reasons to Choose the 140 mm Depth
- A step up from the shallowest profile. At 140 mm it sits between the 110 mm and 170 mm anthracite depths, so there is a size either side if your figures change.
- 2.5 m per piece. A single length covers most openings and is cut to the width of the window on site.
- Dark sills, dark frames. Anthracite suits dark window frames and matches the anthracite verge trim on the same wall.
- Caps in the same colour. The anthracite end cap pair closes both ends of each sill.
- A white twin at the same depth. If the frames turn out to be white, the 140 mm depth is listed in white too.
The Over Sill Anthracite 2.5m 140mm Depth in Brief
An over sill — also sold as an oversill or a window sill extension — is a flat board with a short upstand at the back and a front edge that turns down. The product picture shows that shape with an end cap fitted at each end; it is the same picture for all four anthracite depths.

Is 140 mm the Right Depth?
The answer comes from your wall, not from the drawing. Take two measurements at each opening:
- the total thickness of insulation and render that will go onto the wall around the window;
- how far the existing sill projects from the wall today.
Call 023 8200 2442 with both figures. The counter agrees the depth with you before anything is ordered, and if one elevation has openings of different sizes, it is done window by window.
Lengths and Caps per Window
Divide the width of each sill by 2.5 m and round up to a whole number of lengths.
- A 1.2 m sill: one length, trimmed.
- A 4.0 m sill: 4.0 ÷ 2.5 = 1.6, so two lengths.
- Caps: one anthracite pair for every sill with two open ends, whatever its width.
Where one sill needs two lengths, settle with the counter how they meet before you place the order.
Trims That Go With It
- Anthracite verge trim with upstand — the matching profile for the top edge of the wall.
- Anthracite end cap pair — closes both ends of a sill or a verge run.
- The other anthracite depths and the white family — all on the window sill extensions page.
Anthracite or White
Let the window frames decide. With dark frames, keep to this sill, the anthracite verge trim and the anthracite caps. With white frames, the white 140 mm over sill in the table above has the same depth and its own white cap pair.

FAQ
Which insulation thickness is the 140 mm depth for?
Your own measurements decide it: the insulation and render going on at the window, and how far the current sill sticks out. Phone 023 8200 2442 with both and the depth is agreed before you order.
Is the product picture the 140 mm profile?
The picture shows the shape common to all four anthracite depths. What you receive is the depth named in the title: 140 mm.
Does a length come with end caps?
Order the caps as their own item, the anthracite end cap pair — one pair per sill with two open ends.
How many lengths does a wide window take?
Divide the sill width by 2.5 m and round up. A 4.0 m sill takes two lengths; agree with the counter how they meet.
Can I get the 140 mm depth in white?
Yes — the white 140 mm over sill, closed with the white end cap pair.
