Description

The CD60 one side connector joins two CD60 ceiling profiles at the same level where the end of one profile meets the side of another, in a T. It keeps a single-level grid flat, so both profiles carry the plasterboard on one plane. It is one of four CD60 connectors in the Renders World drylining range, for suspended plasterboard ceilings.

What the CD60 One Side Connector Does

  • It makes a T joint. One CD60 profile runs through; the end of the other meets its side, and the connector holds the two together.
  • One level, not two. Both profiles sit in the same plane, unlike a two-level grid, where one layer crosses over the other.
  • A bracket with hooked tabs. The part is a sheet-metal bracket with a flat base pierced by a large round hole, two side walls and two hooked tabs at the top of one end.
  • Hidden in the finished ceiling. It stays above the plasterboard once the ceiling is boarded.

Where a T Joint Comes In

In a single-level grid every profile sits in the same plane under the plasterboard. Where a shorter run ends against a profile that carries on, the joint is a T, and that is the job of the CD60 one side connector. Where two profiles cross right through each other at the same level, the joint has four arms instead, and the CD60 double side connector takes it.

  1. Fix the UD27 wall channel round the room where the ceiling will sit.
  2. Hang and fix the through profiles, using the 3 m or 4 m CD60 profile.
  3. Bring the end of each branch profile to the side of a through profile at the same level and join them with a CD60 one side connector.
  4. Screw the plasterboard to the finished grid with drywall screws.

FAQ

What is a CD60 one side connector for?

It joins two CD60 ceiling profiles at the same level where the end of one meets the side of the other, in a T joint.

How is it different from the double side connector?

The one side connector takes a profile coming in from one side only. Where profiles cross right through each other at one level, use the double side connector.

Does it work in a two-level grid?

No. The CD60 cross connector is for two-level grids, where one layer of profiles crosses over the other. The CD60 one side connector keeps both profiles in one level.

What if a profile is too short for the run?

Join two lengths end to end with the A100 longitudinal connector, then make the T joint as usual.

Will it show once the ceiling is finished?

No. It sits above the plasterboard and is hidden once the ceiling is boarded. Renders World sells it alongside the CD60 profiles it joins.
