Description

The CD60 double side connector holds two CD60 ceiling profiles together where they cross each other at the same level. It sits over the crossing as a flat plate, with bent legs that grip the profiles on all four arms, so the grid stays in one plane under the plasterboard. It is one of four CD60 connectors in the Renders World drylining range, for suspended plasterboard ceilings.

What the CD60 Double Side Connector Does

  • It locks a crossing. Two CD60 profiles run straight through each other, and the connector holds the point where they meet.
  • Four arms. Profile leaves the crossing on all four sides, and the connector takes all of them.
  • A flat plate with legs. The shop drawing shows a plate laid over the crossing with bent legs gripping the profiles on each arm.
  • One level only. Both profiles stay in the same plane, unlike a two-level grid, where one layer crosses over the other.

Choosing the Right Joint at a Crossing

Every joint in a CD60 grid is one of three kinds. Where two profiles cross and both carry on at the same level, it is a four-way crossing: that is the CD60 double side connector. Where one profile ends against the side of another at the same level, it is a T, taken by the CD60 one side connector. Where one layer passes over the other in two levels, it is the CD60 cross connector.

  1. Fix the UD27 wall channel round the room where the ceiling will sit.
  2. Lay out the 3 m or 4 m CD60 profiles in both directions at the same level and hang them from the structure above.
  3. At every point where two profiles cross, fit a CD60 double side connector over the crossing.
  4. Screw the plasterboard to the finished grid with drywall screws.

FAQ

What is a CD60 double side connector for?

It holds two CD60 ceiling profiles together where they cross each other at the same level, in a single-level grid.

Crossing or T joint: which do I have?

If both profiles carry on past the meeting point, it is a crossing and this connector fits. If one stops at the side of the other, it is a T joint for the one side connector.

What if one layer of profiles runs over the other?

That is a two-level grid, and the joint is the CD60 cross connector, not this connector.

How many do I need?

One CD60 double side connector at every point where two profiles cross at the same level.

Does the plate get in the way of the plasterboard?

The plate lies over the crossing in the frame, and the board goes on underneath the grid, so the finished ceiling hides it. Order it from Renders World together with the profiles and hangers for the same grid.
