Description
Fox Diamento 3D Mars is a glitter-effect decorative paint for interior walls and ceilings in the colour Mars, supplied in a 1 l tub. One brushed coat, shaped while still wet, turns a plain surface into a shimmering finish full of diamond-like flecks with a delicate relief. It belongs to the Fox Dekorator range of decorative paints at Renders World.
Why Pick Fox Diamento 3D Mars
Mars is one of the ready colours of the Diamento 3D family. Fox names its colours and shows each as a swatch instead of describing it, so judge Fox Diamento 3D Mars from the swatch photo next to the other shades. The glossy flecks pick up the light, so the wall changes with daylight and lamps.
Every Diamento 3D colour is the same product underneath; only the shade changes:
- Binder — a top-grade dispersion with metallic fillers, structural additives and chosen auxiliary materials.
- Range — eight colours: White, Luna, Mars, Neptun, Malachit, Gold, Saturn and Carbon.
- To compare — see the Luna colour of the same paint.
What You Get in the Tub
- One-coat decoration — the whole effect is built in a single layer laid with a brush.
- A fast job — the effect itself takes very little time to create.
- Nothing to add — water-based and supplied ready; it must not be diluted.
- Easy to keep clean — the cured surface stands up to repeated washing.
- Quick drying — dry in roughly 2 hours, the room usable after roughly 12.
- Good yield — around 5 m² per litre.
Rooms and Surfaces for Mars
The maker intends Diamento 3D for decorating walls and ceilings indoors, whether the scheme is contemporary or traditional. Mars, like the other colours, is recommended above all for:
- living rooms, other rooms and hallways in a house or flat;
- dining rooms in restaurants and conference rooms;
- hotel entrance halls and corridors.
Suitable bases include cement and cement-lime plasters, concrete, bare ceramic, silicate, brick and aerated concrete walls, gypsum plasters and skims, polymer fillers and skims, plasterboard, OSB, wallpaper (paper, vinyl or glass fibre) and coats of silicate, silicone or acrylic paint.
Preparing the Wall for Mars
Remove dust, flaking coatings and anything weak, and fill cracks and gaps so the wall ends up stable, dry, clean and flat. Then check three things before Fox Diamento 3D Mars goes on.
- Base colour. The surface under the glitter should be near the colour of the finished effect. Fox advises painting it first with Initium Color base paint; Renders World carries Initium Color base paint in grey.
- New surfaces. Leave fresh cement-lime plaster 3 to 4 weeks, fresh concrete around a month and fresh gypsum plaster 2 weeks before decorating.
- Old surfaces. Degrease sound old paint with water and detergent and let it dry. Strip old distemper. Prime old absorbent walls (Fox Primer, for instance), then apply the base paint. Clean off any mould and protect the area with Atlas Mykos Plus fungicidal treatment.
Applying Mars in One Coat
Keep the paint, the wall and the room air between +5 °C and +25 °C and the humidity under 80 % while you work and while it dries. Mix the contents well; do not add water.
- Lay it on. Brush Fox Diamento 3D Mars over a section of roughly one square metre, in one layer.
- Wait. Give it about two minutes.
- Pattern it. Work the wet layer with a wide, dry brush of around 14 cm with short, soft bristles — the 14 cm Fox brush for decorative paints suits the job. Sweep it in parallel lines, on the diagonal, in circles or in crossing strokes; the movement sets the character of the finish.
- Move on. Each section can be reworked for up to a quarter of an hour; then start the next.
Make a trial panel before the real wall. The final appearance changes with the tools, with the person applying it and with the lighting. At about 23 °C and 55 % humidity the surface dries in around 2 hours and the room can be used after around 12; lower temperatures and higher humidity stretch both times.
Working Out How Many Tubs You Need
Fox puts the average yield of the coloured Diamento 3D paints at about 5 m² per litre, depending on how absorbent the wall is. Measure the area and divide by five:
- a chimney breast of about 5 m² — one tub;
- a wall of 3 m by 2.5 m (7.5 m²) — two tubs;
- a 15 m² hallway wall — three tubs, more on thirsty plaster.
Buying several? Take them from one production batch, or combine every tub in one large container and stir before starting, so the shade does not shift across the wall.

FAQ
Can Mars go on a ceiling?
Yes. Diamento 3D is meant for walls and ceilings inside buildings.
Does Mars go on differently from the other Diamento 3D colours?
No. The method, yield and drying times are the same across the range; only the colour differs.
Do I need two coats for full colour?
No. It is a single-coat paint. Fox asks for a base painted close to the finished shade, such as its Initium Color base paint.
Can I wipe marks off a Mars wall?
Yes. Once fully cured the surface is resistant to repeated washing.
How long will an unopened tub keep?
24 months from the production date printed on the pack.
