Description
Diamento 3D Luna is one of the colours of the Fox Dekorator Diamento 3D decorative paint, sold here in a 1 l tub. Brushed on in one coat and shaped while wet, it gives a wall a glittering, slightly raised finish of tiny diamond-like flecks. Find it with the other Fox Dekorator decorative paints at Renders World.
Where Diamento 3D Luna Sits in the Range
Fox Dekorator makes Diamento 3D in eight ready colours:
- Light and metallic tones — White, Luna, Gold and Saturn.
- Further shades — Mars, Neptun, Malachit and Carbon.
Fox shows each colour as a swatch, not in words, so look at the Diamento 3D Luna photo and set it beside Diamento 3D Mars or Diamento 3D Gold before you choose. The glossy flecks catch the light, so a Luna wall looks different in daylight and under lamps.
Behind the sparkle is a quality dispersion binder with special metallic fillers, structural additives and selected auxiliary materials. Once cured, a Luna wall can be washed again and again.
Matching the Base to the Luna Effect
Fox asks for a substrate close in colour to the effect you are painting. Before Diamento 3D Luna goes on, check three things:
- Base coat — Fox recommends its Initium Color base paint; Renders World stocks Initium Color base paint in grey in a 1 l tin.
- Sound surface — dry and clean, with dust, old peeling coats and weak layers taken off.
- Even surface — cracks and holes filled first, because the effect needs a flat wall.
New Plaster, Old Paint and Damp Spots
- Fresh cement-lime render or plaster — let it season for 3–4 weeks before painting.
- Fresh concrete — about one month.
- Fresh gypsum plaster — 2 weeks.
- Old, firmly bonded paint — wash it down with water and detergent to remove grease, then let it dry.
- Old distemper — scrape it off completely.
- Old absorbent walls — prime, for example with Fox Primer, then apply the Initium Color base paint.
- Patches of mould — clean them and treat with Atlas Mykos Plus before any decorative coat goes on.
Painting Luna, Minute by Minute
Diamento 3D is ready to use. Stir the tub thoroughly and never thin it with water. The Luna tub, the wall and the air should all be between +5 °C and +25 °C, with relative humidity under 80 %.
| When | What you do with Luna |
|---|---|
| Start | Brush a single coat over a patch of about 1 m² |
| After about 2 minutes | Begin modelling the wet Luna with a dry, wide brush |
| Up to 15 minutes | Still workable; then start the next square metre |
| About 2 hours | The Luna layer is dry |
| About 12 hours | The room can be used again |
For the modelling stage you want a brush about 14 cm wide with short, soft bristles, kept dry — the Fox 14 cm decorative paint brush is made for it. Straight, diagonal, circular or criss-cross strokes each leave a different pattern in the Luna finish. The drying times hold at around 23 °C and 55 % humidity; a cold or damp room slows them down.
Practise on a spare board or a hidden corner first. How the finished Luna wall looks depends on the brush, the hand holding it and the light falling on it.
Rooms and Surfaces for Luna
Diamento 3D is made for walls and ceilings indoors, in modern or classic schemes. Fox singles out:
- living rooms, other rooms and hallways in the home;
- dining rooms in restaurants, and conference rooms;
- lobbies and corridors in hotels.
It can go over cement and cement-lime plaster, concrete, unplastered ceramic, silicate, brick and aerated concrete walls, gypsum plaster and skim, polymer fillers, plasterboard, OSB board, paper, vinyl and glass-fibre wallpaper, and existing silicate, silicone or acrylic paint.
Tubs of Luna for Your Wall
- Spread rate — one litre of Diamento 3D Luna covers on average about 5 m² in its single coat.
- Porous walls — they drink more, so allow extra there.
- Worked example — a feature wall 2.5 m high and 4 m long is 10 m², which needs about two tubs.
- More than one tub — buy tubs from the same production batch, or tip them all into one container and mix before you start, so the colour stays even from edge to edge.

FAQ
Is Luna a different paint from Gold or Mars?
No. Every Diamento 3D tub holds the same paint; only the colour changes, so the method, spread rate and times are identical.
How many tubs for a 10 m² feature wall?
About two. Each litre covers roughly 5 m², a little less on a porous surface.
What goes on the wall before Luna?
A base coat close to the colour of the finished effect. Fox recommends its Initium Color base paint.
Can it go on a ceiling?
Yes. Diamento 3D Luna is meant for walls and ceilings inside buildings.
How long do I have to shape the pattern?
Start about 2 minutes after brushing it on; each patch stays workable for up to 15 minutes.
