Description
Everbuild Pink Grip is a solvent-based direct bond adhesive in a 350 ml cartridge, made for the trade: run a bead, press the skirting, trim or panel into place, and in most jobs it holds without props. Sika's Everbuild data sheet says it bonds to virtually all common building surfaces, indoors and outdoors. At Renders World it sits with the fixing adhesives and gun foams under foams and adhesives.
What Pink Grip Fixes
The data sheet lists these jobs for Pink Grip:
- Trims — skirting, architrave and dado rails.
- Floors — parquet and cork flooring, and carpet gripper without nails or tacks.
- Walls — cladding fixed straight to internal walls or to timber battens, and battens fixed to walls without fastenings.
- Stairs and doorways — stair nosing on concrete or timber stairs, and polyester, wood, uPVC or metal thresholds.
- Small fittings — nameplates, plastic boxes, decorative frames, wall sockets and junction boxes.
- Panels — aluminium and other skin panels on portable buildings and caravans.
Why Trades Use It
- It does not slump. The bead stays put, so most items need no temporary support while the bond forms.
- Strong early and final grip on porous and non-porous surfaces.
- Fills gaps. A thicker bead takes up an uneven wall behind a batten or board.
- Clean cut-off. The bead nips off without stringing across the job.
- Inside or out. It works on vertical and horizontal surfaces and Everbuild rates its outdoor weathering as excellent.
- Easy to recognise. The pink colour sets it apart on site.
How to Use It
Prepare the surfaces
- Both surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants.
- Give new concrete or plaster time to dry and mature first.
- Prime porous or crumbly surfaces with diluted contact adhesive or PVA and let it dry.
- Work in air between +5 °C and +40 °C.
Load the gun
Cut the cartridge tip without damaging the thread, cut the nozzle cleanly at 45 degrees and pierce the membrane. Pink Grip fits a standard sealant gun such as the KAEM 15 sealant gun.
Direct bond
- Run a 6 mm bead in a zigzag along the length of the item.
- On panels, keep the beads no more than 350 mm apart.
- Press the item into place with even pressure over its whole surface.
- Leave it to cure for 24 to 48 hours. Prop very heavy items while they cure.
- Where the gap is larger, such as a batten on an uneven wall, mark those spots and lay a thicker bead there.
Double-stick method
Apply the adhesive as above, press the item firmly into position, then pull it away so the adhesive transfers to both faces. Let it dry apart for 5 minutes, press it back into place, and allow 24 hours before the area takes traffic.
Cleaning up
Clean tools and excess adhesive with white spirit or turpentine substitute.
Where Not to Use Pink Grip
- Not on damp surfaces.
- Not for mirrors.
- Not on polystyrene, Styrofoam or expanded polyurethane.
- Not overhead on its own — only together with mechanical fixings.
- Heavy items need support — anything over 10 kg per m² stays supported for 8 to 24 hours, depending on size.
- Test sensitive plastics first — the solvents can attack some plastics. Before fixing plastic trims such as boards from the PVC skirting range, try a small area.

FAQ
How long does Pink Grip take to set?
With the direct bond method, leave it 24 to 48 hours to cure. With the double-stick method, allow 24 hours before the area takes traffic.
Can Pink Grip be used outside?
Yes. It is designed for internal and external use, its weathering is rated excellent, and the bond holds from -20 °C to +50 °C.
Do I still need nails for skirting?
In most jobs, no: the adhesive holds the board without temporary support. Items heavier than 10 kg per m² need support for 8 to 24 hours.
Will Pink Grip stick polystyrene?
No. The data sheet rules it out on polystyrene, Styrofoam and expanded polyurethane.
Is this the solvent-free Pink Grip?
No. This is the original solvent-based Pink Grip, which cleans off with white spirit or turpentine substitute.
