Atlas Hydroband 3G Waterproof Internal Corner for Tanking

This is the Atlas Hydroband 3G internal corner, a waterproof internal corner for tanking wet rooms, balconies and basements. Atlas heat-forms it from its Hydroband 3G sealing tape, and it goes into an Atlas Woder waterproofing coat at the inside corners of a room. What This Waterproof Internal Corner Does

Hydroband 3G tapes and corners are made for the places where a waterproofing coat on its own is not enough protection against moisture, above all the corners of wet and damp rooms. A waterproof internal corner seals the inside corners of a room.

• Three layers. Two outer layers of alkali-resistant non-woven polypropylene and a middle layer of ageing-resistant thermoplastic elastomer; the maker says this build gives a reliable seal and good adhesion to the waterproofing.
• Elastic across its width. It can stretch a long way across, stays watertight under large movement and seals joints between parts of a building that move differently.
• Tear strength. Polypropylene fabric and thermoplastic elastomer give it high resistance to tearing.
• Chemical resistance. It resists alkalis and dilute acids.
• Inside and outside. The corner is rated for walls and floors, indoors and outdoors, and resistant to UV.

Where It Goes

• Wet rooms indoors — bathrooms, showers, kitchens and wash rooms, above all the wet zones around shower trays, basins, baths and sinks.
• Outside and below ground — balconies and terraces, basements, water tanks, underground garages and inspection chambers.
• Moisture-sensitive materials — gypsum boards and plasters, anhydrite screeds, aircrete and OSB boards.
• Substrates — cement, cement-lime and gypsum plasters, cement and anhydrite screeds, concrete, reinforced concrete, brick and block walls, plasterboard and OSB boards.

• Sealing tape — the Atlas Hydroband 3G sealing tape, for the edges between walls and floor screeds and for movement joints.

Fitting the Corner

1. Prepare the substrate as the technical card of the Woder coat you use asks: clean, free of dust, lime laitance and other dirt.
2. Coat the corner with Woder E, Woder Duo or Woder SX.
3. Press the corner into the coat straight after applying it.
4. When every critical point is sealed, coat the whole area with the same waterproofing. At balcony and terrace drip edges, floor gullies, linear drains and drain grates, cover the tapes and corners fully with that coat; elsewhere only the edges of the tape need covering.
