Description
The Atlas Rollo Finish is a plaster roller made by Atlas for putting skim on walls and ceilings. It is 230 mm wide, its dense pile lets you control how much skim goes on, and its bevelled sides stop material building up at the edges. Atlas names it as the roller to use with its Atlas Gipsar Plus gypsum skim, and at Renders World it sits with the finishing plasters and fillers it is made for.
What a Plaster Roller Does in a Skim
Atlas skims go on by trowel, by roller or by spray machine, and Atlas says to choose by the size of the area and the tools you have. Rolling is a two-step method in the Atlas sheets:
- Roll — the plaster roller spreads the skim evenly over the wall or ceiling.
- Smooth — a stainless steel trowel follows straight after and closes the coat to a smooth finish.
A plaster roller does not replace the trowel. It does the spreading, so your trowel work goes into a flat, smooth finish rather than into moving material across the wall. That is why the pile matters: it has to take up the skim, lay it down evenly and hold together without fraying.
Why Choose the Atlas Rollo Finish
- Made for skim by Atlas — Atlas's own plaster roller for its skims, and the one its Gipsar Plus sheet names.
- Control over how much goes on — the weave and the density of the fibres let you meter the skim onto the wall.
- Pile that does not fray — the pile has a smooth, even surface, so it does not shed into the finish.
- Bevelled sides — they stop excess skim collecting at the ends of the roller and dropping off.
- Ergonomic handle — a profiled handle that sits comfortably in the hand and works with a telescopic pole for ceilings and tall walls.

Which Skims It Suits
Atlas sets out roller work in the sheets of two skims sold at Renders World, and both work with this roller:
| Skim | What Atlas says about the roller | After rolling |
|---|---|---|
| Atlas Gipsar Plus, 20 kg powder | A scotch-brite type pile roller, for example Rollo Finish | Stainless trowel straight away; next coat after 1.5 h |
| Atlas GO!, 25 kg ready-mixed | A Scotch-Brite roller is recommended | Stainless float straight away |
For the full choice of skims and fillers, see the finishing plasters range. Rollers for paint rather than skim are in the rollers and paint brushes range.
How to Roll On Skim
- Get the wall ready. Follow the skim maker's sheet for preparation and priming: the wall should be stable, dry, even and clean.
- Mix the skim for roller work. Gipsar Plus is mixed from powder with 7.0–9.0 litres of water per 20 kg bag. Atlas GO! comes ready-mixed and may be thinned with up to 2 % clean water for the roller if needed.
- Roll the coat on. Spread the skim evenly over a section of wall or ceiling. Use a telescopic pole for ceilings and the top of tall walls.
- Smooth straight away. Follow behind the roller with a stainless steel trowel or float while the skim is fresh. Trowels and spatulas are in the skimming blades and spatulas range.
- Clean the roller. Wash it in clean water straight after use, as Atlas asks for all tools used with its skims.
