Description

This 50mm acoustic tape is a Knauf roll of self-adhesive polyethylene foam, 50 mm wide, 30 m long and 3 mm thick. In a dry lining system it is stuck onto the metal profiles, where it cuts down the sound and vibration carried through the structure. It sits with the other site and masking tapes at Renders World.

What the 50mm Acoustic Tape Does in a Stud Wall

This acoustic tape is made for Knauf dry lining systems, where it improves the acoustic comfort of the room. It does that by reducing how much sound and vibration the construction passes on.

  • Foam layer. Polyethylene foam, 3 mm thick.
  • Self-adhesive. One side of the acoustic tape sticks straight onto the frame.
  • Cut to length. The roll cuts easily by hand on site.
  • Indoors only. The maker limits it to internal work.

Fitting It

  • Follow the system. Use the 50mm acoustic tape as the Knauf technical manual for the chosen dry lining system describes, and check where that manual places it before you start.
  • Stick it on the steel. The acoustic tape is made to be stuck onto the metal sections of the frame.
  • The frame. Profiles, hangers and connectors for the partition or ceiling are in our drylining range.
